For most of my life I have been in reaction mode to what is happening to me.
Mother Nature is a powerful force and it can affect you in some negative ways. Often times in my life there have been some hard knocks and it gets tiring sometimes when the hard knocks keep on coming.
I found myself many times asking God, "What is this all about?"
Rarely if ever did I get an answer from God on this sort of thing. God never answered my questions about why something happened that affected me adversely.
Over the past few months I have discovered that the things that happen to me are to be overcome. Any single event that seems to hit me hard has to be taken in the perspective that bad things happen and are to be expected.
Finding that I am here to do good things allows me to take it all in stride.
Why is that?
I believe that it can be best understood in the context of selflessness.
When you focus on doing good things for others a bad thing that happens to yourself simply gives you a moment to recover and get back on task of helping others.
I am learning that "It ain't about me"
When I keep my focus on the good works that I am here to do it keeps everything in context.
Challenge yourself to write down a list of the people you know and find a way to help them.
